National lifespan charts flatter Texas roofs. Between 100°F summers, UV exposure, and hail alley storm cycles, North Texas roofs age faster than the brochure says. Here's what to actually expect.

The gap is mostly heat and hail. Asphalt shingles lose granules faster under Texas UV, and even when hail doesn't total a roof, repeated small impacts shorten its life. Granules collecting in gutters, shingle edges curling or cupping, bald spots showing black substrate, cracked or missing shingles after wind events, and daylight or moisture in the attic. Interior ceiling stains mean the decking is already taking on water — don't wait.
